The work begins with a series of photographs taken of a site that interests me. Copies of these photos are then combined with drawings, fabric scraps, sand texture etc. to build up a rich layer of abstract imagery glued to mat board.

This collage is then reworked with sandpaper, oil paint, colored pencil and solvent. When completed the mat board is then mounted on board.

The goal is to transform this raw material into a more abstract and personal evocation of the original space.
